I went here many times during my divorce. Anna was kind. However, she kept insisting on pressing really hard on some places that I kept telling her not to, but she kept insisting I needed it. One place was on my calf and when I later went to the doctor about it, I found out it was a lipoma- not a muscle and should not have been pressed on at all. The other was behind my ear and was a lymph node. After that, I questioned the training and didn’t feel safe going any more.
I would stay away from this place. Honestly I can take just about any amount of pressure and this place was nothing but an hour of pure pain. They do not work your muscles and apply all pressure straight to you bones. Even after mentioning that they were too deep multiple times, the guy kept the same pressure. The worst part was at the end where he overstretched my arms and caused several muscle spasms. Buyer beware, they really don't know what they are doing. And after explaining why I was unhappy with the service, they still tried to pressure me for a tip. My tip was, listen to your customers.
This is my newfound secret pleasure. I visited Relax at Merle Hay Mall for the first time approximately six weeks ago when I had a severe headache caused from neck and shoulder stress/tension. I opted to try the 20 mins chair massage and am so happy that I did. After the first visit, my headache was gone! I have returned weekly since that initial appointment, and I'm always left feeling relaxed and stress free. All of their therapists do a wonderful job and they each have their own techniques - but all seem to be very effective. I would call this deep tissue massage, so be prepared to be a little sore after your first visit (to me, that just means it's working). I haven't had any further soreness after that first, initial appointment, and I plan to go back weekly as a little self-indulgent pleasure. I also tried the foot reflexology massage recently, and was very fond of that as well. They have a new regular customer - I highly recommend them!
This used to be my favorite place. But the men rub entirely too hard. Even when clenching up and saying ouch many times they just don't loosen up. Twice I went there and paid for a full body table massage and the only thing he rubbed was from my waist up to my shoulders. I went in there another time and decided I was only going to get my feet rubbed and notice the same man that denied me of what I paid for was gladly rubbing down a little white woman from head to toe. I will not be going back.
Highly recommend this place. Great service, affordable, and friendly staff. Not the best English.
