Yu Spa isn’t about luxury or high-end pampering, it’s about pure relaxation, great steam and sauna options, and impeccable cleanliness. Everything here is well-maintained, with staff constantly cleaning, which makes my experience even more enjoyable every time. What I love most is how much time I can spend here: sometimes 4 to 5 hours, fully unwinding in the variety of saunas, steam rooms, jacuzzi, and cold plunge. There’s something about staying long enough for your body to really release serotonin that makes the relaxation feel deep and lasting. And the vibe here allows for this type of relaxation. I’ve been to more elevated, luxury-focused spas, and consider myself a spa aficionado, and Yu Spa is the only spa in San Diego that lets you get this type of long spa day. I still have to try massage and scrub service, but I know what to expect: the vibe is very practical and very matter of fact here. Imagine, I spent 4.5 hours here without a service - just the use of the facilities! 😂 If you’re looking for a spot to truly reset, Yu Spa can be a great option.

Yu Spa in Kearny Mesa is a fantastic spot to unwind and recharge, whether you’re looking to relax after a long week or enjoy a lazy weekend. The spa provides a calming atmosphere, making it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted by a clean, tranquil environment designed to help you relax and let go of stress. The men’s area offers several amenities to enjoy, including a sauna and hot tub as well as steam room and cold plunge. However, the sauna could benefit from being a bit hotter, as it’s not quite as hot as expected. Still, it’s a nice space to sit back and sweat out the week’s tension. The hot tub, while warm, isn’t as hot as it could be, and it occasionally has some foam on the surface. A bit more frequent cleaning might improve the experience, as the water can appear murky at times. Despite these minor details, Yu Spa excels in providing an overall soothing experience. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring your visit is comfortable and enjoyable. There are also communal areas and other amenities that add to the value of the visit. The facilities are generally well-maintained, and the environment feels safe and inviting. If you’re looking for a local spa to relax and recharge, Yu Spa is worth checking out. While there’s room for improvement in some areas, the overall experience is positive and satisfying. Whether you’re treating yourself to a self-care day or just need a break from your routine, Yu Spa offers a welcoming and rejuvenating escape.

I visited Yu Spa yesterday for a body scrub and massage, and while the facilities are lovely, the service was disappointing. The body scrub was far too rough, with very little water used, making the experience uncomfortable. I couldn’t help but compare my treatment to others around me, and it was significantly different—both from what I observed and from my past experiences. At one point, the therapist even asked me to get up mid-service to wash my face, which disrupted the flow of the treatment. The massage that followed was even worse. It felt rushed, mechanical, and extremely painful. Rather than a relaxing experience, it felt like she was pressing as hard as possible, even on my bones, which should never happen in a proper massage. She seemed to be following a general routine but sped through it so quickly that there was no real care or attention. To make matters worse, she finished early. I expected a soothing and professional experience but left feeling more tense and sore than when I arrived. While the facilities are great, the quality of service I received was far below expectations. I hope this was just an off day, but I don’t see myself returning anytime soon.

It was such a wonderful experience! I got a scrub and oil massage, and now my skin feels so smooth all over. The masseuse had amazing techniques, and the soreness in my shoulders is gone. My favorite facility in it called jimjilbang was the Himalayan hot stone room, though the yellow clay room was great too. An amazing experience—highly recommend!

Came here first a long time ago & it was fine. Was there Nov 2024 again & there was a terrible smell in the women’s area, so they gave me a complimentary card for a next visit. Was there today & I really do enjoy the amenities but having been to spas in Japan & Germany, what I most miss is the silence & respect. I did let the front desk know that it got really loud; in spite of the signs posted all over to “keep voices low” people don’t. I would PAY if there was the option to come to a “Silence is Golden Hour” either before they open, their first hour, or something like this. Would be amazing to really get the feel of spa with some quiet ✨✨
