www.secretgardenstl.comEvery time I go to secret garden I have a phenomenal experience. It’s the best massage I’ve ever had and totally worth the price. The receptionist always greets me with a warm smile. Also I love the Christmas tree!
Amazing experience. It was my first ever massage! India was so kind and thoughtful, and made sure I felt comfortable. The place was beautiful and enchanting. I truly wish I could spend all day there. They have the ability to book tea parties you can host can you imagine?? Things are reasonably priced, and while I was a bit embarrassed to not know how tipping worked in the industry, the staff were so kind in educating me. The massage room was dimly lit, great calming music, and very atmospheric in general. The gardens in the back were beautiful.
After my interaction with the owner over the phone I will never come back to this place again. I called ahead to let the team know I’m allergic to satin and was told to book through the site and leave a note about the allergy which I did… I show up to satin sheets that had to be changed. One of the masseuse was so pleasant and adaptable to that change. The other masseuse, that did my massage, had snarky comments and smelled of cigarettes but she did give me a good massage. The woman at the front desk when leaving was off putting. The room was nicely decorated and we got a glass of champagne and chocolates with our massages. The experience overall when I look at this price tag was not worth it. Though I think it’s worth mentioning this was my first “real” massage. Just to respond to the owners comment. I took the chocolate thinking it came with the pricey couples massage. I thought there's no way this package only comes with a handful of chocolates, so when I saw the box on the counter I assumed it was ours. I am more than happy to compensate for the chocolates. There was no timer to tell us when to get out of the hot tub so she could have just told us that our soak time was over. I'm a reasonable adult, I would have simply left the hot tub. Also I didn't sneak the chocolate out, she also could have informed me of the chocolates being brought in for the crew. I think it would be beneficial for you to have someone designated to handle customers in between massages. To not have any of these confusions in the future. You can keep your disingenuous well wishes.
The two stars are STRICTLY for the masseuses. I booked the birthday package for my mom and she said her facial & massage was phenomenal!!! But unfortunately also had an encounter with the rude woman at the front desk. Her attitude has been mentioned in many other reviews so she’s doing damage to her own business. My mother was offered a drink, she gave her order then the owner came back empty handed. When my mom inquired about her drink - the woman said “oh it’s actually $10” implying that that’d be an issue. Her experience seemed to be full of micro aggressions - no one wants a relaxing experience to begin with someone who has lackluster customer service skills. ALSO! My appointment time from the emails didn’t match up with the appointment time over the phone. I didn’t get a response until 9pm that night after trying to get in touch with the team for hours… With the stress of setting up that appointment alone - I felt like I needed a massage. My mom enjoyed herself but after hearing her experience with someone who wasn’t even conducting the services - she won’t be back.
This place truly is a secret. You walk up the pathway, and open the door and you're transported to a place of serenity. You walk in and take off your shoes. Then you are escorted to your room. The couples massage was booked and the room had a nice quaint, serene ambiance. We were asked if we needed to use the restroom, or if we wanted to have something to drink. The bathroom is attached to our room. Charlene is heaven sent. She has the magical hands. Jean-Luke did a fantastic job. He knew the parts to hit. The steamed towels were amazing. Will definitely be back, sometime in the spring to enjoy the scenery. Thanks for making our first time memorable.
