I was highly pleased with my experience at Drift & Dream. My appointment for a deprivation-tank float was taken by a friendly and soulful lady named Valerie, who was even more enjoyable in person. It was my first time in the tank, and Valerie was very thorough in walking me through the procedure and what I could expect from it. My float itself went without a hitch, and I left the facility fully satisfied with the overall experience. Plus, the waiting room was homey and attractive, which, in my experience, does indeed make a big difference in how spa-type treatments will go (nothing sours a trip to the spa like a clinical, dehumanizing office and waiting room). If there was any negative, it was that the post-tank shower stall was a bit on the small side (though, it was equipped with some fabulous peppermint-oil soap!). My gratitude goes out to Valerie and co at Drift & Dream. I have benefited from your work and service.
I can tell you from personal and professional experience, all small businesses have a personality and they all go through ups and downs. Drift&Dream has been around a long time as a staple in the community and the first one to introduce floating and infra-red sauna. The owner is an expert in floating as well as other modalities, and massage that she offers. I've been getting treatments from her for over 20 years. Nobody has ever cured my health issues better. I give NO merit to a rude phone call, because that can happen to anyone anytime with any business! Experience the expertise of this FIRST RATE healer and wellness educator on your own body, and then you'll have some worthwhile feedback. I highly recommend the personal service and tailored care that this small business offers. My health is taken seriously, followed up with and always gets results. Something that gets lost too often in a drive-thru society!!
I heard about float tanks and was immediately interested in trying one. To my amazement there was one in Wilmington, very close to my house. After calling Drift and Dream and getting the prices ($75/hour) ($110/hour 1/2) I was a little weary of spending that much to try it. After experiencing the tank though, I must say it was worth every dollar! I would use it everyday if I could afford to. It it an amazingly relaxing, meditating, and psychedelic experience. Don't say to yourself "I'm not into that hippy stuff"... everyone should experience the tank on a regular basis, no matter your life views. The owner is very nice and eclectic and will calmly guide you through the experience. Please take advantage of 1 of the only 2 float tanks in the entire state right here in Wilmington.
I called drift and dream just to get prices and maybe set up an appointment but the after my experience with the woman who answered the phone i dont think ill ever go there she was unbelievably rude. She clearly couldnt wait to get off the phone with me, she would grunt in distain at me everytime i would ask her to repeat myself and when i asked for the prices she just assumed i didnt have enough money and said i should go someplace cheaper.
Touched by an angel is an understatement... I found this little jewel when I was looking to recover after a 50k run. I can't wait to try each treatment offered there.
