thelittlemassageseattle.comThe atmosphere in the store is very relaxing. The masseurs are professional and the strength is moderate. It makes people feel very comfortable.
I use to go to this place often and it has always been lovely. I don’t know if it’s new management but I was just in the other day and received the worst massage in my life. It would have felt nice but she didn’t use lotion or oil and it ended up hurting from the dry rubbing. I go to pay and asked for some change. The tip I gave was over 20% and she pointed to the sign that said tip your masseuse 30% and I said no I want change. She proceeds to pretend like she can’t understand me and we have a stare off which is when I once again mentioned I want change. She came back with the change speaking English at that point. I don’t write reviews unless it’s deemed one. There’s so many massage parlors, find another one.
To be honest, I'm giving 2 stars to be nice ... it almost deserves 1 star. A few things: - they forced me to leave a 5 start review - It felt like I couldn't leave until I leave a review. -I found that the review I left didn't go through which makes me wonder if they just stole my information. - I don't think I got the full hour. It felt really short. - I wanted deep tissue but it felt more suface focused. - I kept trying to let them know where the pain was (pinching nerves) but they didn't speak English well enough. - The masseuse shocked me several times by putting things on me without any warning at all. That kept sorta ruining my calm. - A pinched nerve was the only reason I came there. It still hurts a heck of a lot so I just lost money. In the end, I wanted a specific thing and they didn't seem to pay attention to my request very well. They did my shoulders, which is what I struggled to communicate, but I wanted a professional to figure out which muscles needed the attention to stop the pinching of a nerve. There seemed to only be a general level of massage. Maybe it was a bad day but I'm seeing similar reviews from others. If you go, use a translator to get exactly what you want.
Excellent massage. One of the deepest I’ve had. I run or swim almost daily and came in very sore and my body feels so much better. Lisa was very friendly and very talented massage therapist. I got a 60 minute massage and 30 minute foot rub. I asked for harder pressure and she gave a me a thorough sports massage, not slow and relaxing like a spa massage but more therapeutic and deliberate, getting into joints and tendons using a variety of techniques, many I haven’t experienced anywhere else. She works very fast and did 90 minutes worth of massage in that 60 minutes. The hot stone massage was incredible. She also did percussion massaging, stretching, some more Thai massage kind of techniques, walking on the back, craniosacral, lots of deep tissue work with her elbows and forearms. The foot massage was excellent. Lisa checked in many times to make sure the pressure was ok. Don’t believe the bad reviews. There are cultural differences and some language barriers and they may not have quite the same procedures and business standards as a spa, but honestly I kind of found some of the things other people might complain about to be endearing and part of the experience. It’s clean, it’s professional, it’s not shady at all. The issues were minor and not worth mentioning, I will come back and it was overall a very positive experience and worth the money. Thank you Lisa!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS: I tried to call first but there was no answer, then I saw that I could make an appointment online really quick so I did. Right after, I got a call from them and I explained that I'd made an appointment online and the lady just said 'whatever' then hung up. I went to the appointment and asked for the hour long body massage with a 30 minute foot massage. I was laying down by 6:10pm and just laid there for another 10-15 minutes while my masseuse chatted outside with a man. The massage was okay, it was uneven and the lady told me I was beautiful, which felt strange. During the massage she randomly pulled down my underwear and it really freaked me out. I kept thinking I was going to be trafficked or assaulted. She also kept leaving during the massage - about 5 times and would be chatting for about 5 minutes each time with another girl in the front office. The massage ended at 7:05pm, so I definitely didn't get the foot massage and the body massage wasn't an hour. It was maybe 30 minutes. I said I'd pay for the hour ($60) and she took my card and asked how much for the tip. I said $5 and she got really mad and pointed to a sign multiple times that said they appreciate 30%+ for tips and I said no, just $5. She showed me a book of other tips where people had left $20 and I said no. She slammed the receipt down and I wrote in $5 and the total and she said 'how about $15?' I said no again and she just walked out and went in the back, leaving me alone in the front. I wish I hadn't paid at all becausei was definitely scammed out of half of my massage. Totally uncomfortable and weird. I also read other reviews on here and only within the past few days people were saying they were made to pay before the massage and getting replies that that's the policy, but that's obviously not true if I didn't have to pay until after. I also went to the restroom and it was very dirty. Hopefully they clean the actual massage rooms.
