What a great experience! Corey addressed a long-term range of motion and pain issue in my arm and provided a wonderfully relaxing massage. I am very much looking forward to my next appointment!

After reading all of these positive reviews about Corey, I almost didn't proceed with my own review. However, the experience was so strange and unwanted that I was compelled to say something. Before beginning, I was asked if I had any problem areas. I told him I'm stiff and inflexible, the usual stuff about my back, and then I told him, explicitly, that I do not want my left shoulder manipulated. I explained that I badly dislocated it many years ago and it has since partially dislocated 10-20 times. Perhaps he is well known for being a massage therapist who works on people with problems rather than for pleasure or relaxation? Because he seemed to take it as a challenge. When he got to my arm, he manipulated the hell out of it. When I complained that it hurt and that I didn't want it, he told me to relax more and breathe. I did as he asked, thinking it wouldn't last too long. I got increasingly anxious and uncomfortable the more he tried to pull and stretch it, nearly causing a subluxation multiple times. He told me to relax over and over again as he continued to pull it back, back, back. I came for a relaxing massage and instead got sweaty pits with a minor panic attack. He proceeded to tell me that it's common for people to cause themselves injuries when they are tense and are preparing for the previous injury to happen again in anticipation. I felt like telling him that I don't give a damn, I told you not to manipulate it at the very beginning of this and you proceeded to try to "fix it." I went there for a massage, not for a physical therapist! Besides this violation of trust, Corey spent nearly 75% of the massage lightly poking me. I mean that literally. He would start with what seemed like a nice firm rub for five or so seconds, then he would come to a stop, perhaps on what he thought was a point of tension, then he would simply hold a finger or thumb on that spot for 10-15 seconds at 10-20% pressure. He did this so often that I had plenty of opportunities to count it out, wondering what the hell he was doing. It didn't feel good or bad, just awkward and pointless. It's one thing to ask for your massage to be more or less firm, which I did, but how am I supposed to tell him in the middle of it to stop...doing nothing? Please count out 15 seconds in your head, picturing someone holding one finger on you. Now continue to do that for 30 minutes with 5 second intervals. I just wanted to get out as soon as possible. Corey seems like a nice man, I wish him all the best, but I have to be honest when I say that was far and away the worst massage I've ever had. The icing on the cake is that my left shoulder is now clicking and popping whenever I move it, which is why I got up in the middle of the night to write this review. Corey, I'm sure you have your own view of what happened, but the next time someone tells you, very clearly and precisely, that they don't want an area touched or stretched or manipulated, stay the hell away from that area.

Corey took his time to listen to my concerns and talk to me about what he thought was the best. The environment was very calming and relaxing. Corey focused on exactly what we discussed. I left feeling better than I have in over a year. I will be making a massage with Corey a priority in my health journey

Being a massage therapist myself in the past, I am very picky at who I go to. Corey is very knowledgeable, intuitive and amazing at what he does. Have been going to him for years.
