Okay so I haven't had a massage in more than two years and run marathons so you know... Tension and injuries galore. My last massage in Philly was disappointing and overpriced. Found this place on the MindBody app and booked with Michelle the owner as I finally reached my breaking point.... Wow am I ever glad I did!!! Michelle was consultative and truly psychic in her ability to pinpoint even old injuries I neglected to tell her about (honestly, I forget). One of the most relaxing yet also palliative and renewing massages I've gotten, and Michelle was very sensitive to any areas she could tell I felt pain. Already booked my next one, go support this wonderful woman-owmed small business in Delaware today!! **Also reading past reviews, it is standard practice to require a credit card to book in case of no shows. Groupon won't pay the business unless you show up to redeem your gift card, so you are taking money out of their pocket if you don't show up and no you haven't "already paid."
Lets start at the fact that I canceled my appointment(had to leave cc on file to make appt). Then they randomly booked me another appt. without my authorization. They sent the comfirmation to my school email which I don't use while not in school. So then my appointment comes along without me even knowing and they charge my card with a $60 no show fee. These people are straight crooks. I would never recommend this place to anyone. AND when I tried to call they never even called me back to explain themselves or give me back the money they stole from my account.
What is with this place? You need to schedule an appointment in advanced but nobody ever picks up the phone or returns a call? How is this acceptable? This is a real shame because I had a good experience a year ago and it was not like this. I have called for weeks to redeem a gift certificate and nobody has gotten back to me. At this point, the certificate is expired. Thankfully, I was able to get a refund but I will never even bother with this place ever again. And I recommend whoever is reading this to do the same. Don’t waste your time on this business, you will not be satisfied. Shame on the customer service here!
Sharing my experience today in case anyone else thinks to book a massage at kneading to heal on pennsylvania Ave in wilmington, DE Received a groupon for kneading to heal to book a 1 hour massage and relieve some major stress. I saw they had a few openings this afternoon so I called to confirm. The person who answered the phone did not sound very pleasant but did confirm that there was a 2:30 opening and she took my information and confirmed she saw the groupon purchased. She then asked for my credit card in case I didnt show up.🤔 I told her I was curious as to why she would need a card in case of a no show for something that was already paid for. She seemed very annoyed that I would even question her policy because every place has it's own policy and that the money was paid to groupon not to her yet. She was being extremely flippant and I, the customer tried to calm her down explaining that I was just curious because I hadn't experienced this before. At this point, her behavior in response to my very simple curiosity made me feel a bit more uncomfortable. I suggested I just come in at 230 so she doesnt risk a "no show" and if the appointment has been taken in the meantime then that is okay as well. She did not agree to this which seemed a win/win to me because she "cant hold appointment without a card" 🙄 I asked if she was the one that gives massages, she replied no. I asked if she was the owner, and her name she replied " why does that matter?" And "michelle" She then blurted " if you dont like my policy, get a refund from groupon, I'm cancelling your appointment " and hung up on me
Starting May 8, 2018 I attempted several times to make an appt for myself and 2 friends by phone or online. No one answered the phone, it kept going to voicemail. The next day I called again several times, this time a lady called me back but I was informed the online appts is for “Members only”. My friends and I decided a Saturday in June would be good. Left msgs again, 1 week later Jay calls saying all June wknds were booked. Called again after talking to my friends, left msgs. A week later I had to physically go there to ask which date is avl for 3. It took another 2 wks for all of us to be added to calendar, all the while the other girls are calling too and calls not being returned. Another had to go there in person also. Now, with all of this on June 20th I get a call from Jay to confirm appt, I informed him I was actually going to come there to cancel MY appt because I would be out of town but the other girls might still be there on June 21st. I asked for other openings and we finally came down to 2 possible dates if the girls wanted to reschedule. I then asked what’s the easiest way to contact the office because it is so difficult to contact the office. Jay then tells me that other people call there too—-DUH!!!! Then DUDE HAD THE NERVE while I, as a potential customer, was expressing my frustration with the process, told me to TAKE MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!!???!!!.....NICE!!!!....I was planning to do that on the very first call but decided to be patient because me and my friends had Groupons. The New Yorker in me was dressed and ready to visit Mr. Jay but decided to call Groupon. They took my complaint and refunded my money. They did the same for my friends too. Trust me....this was the short version of this story. Jay must be very close to the owner Michelle for him to freely tell potential clients to go elsewhere. A great experience with any facility starts with good customer service. This place is LACKING immensely. And YES, at Jays recommendation I am taking my business elsewhere.
