be-well-chicago.comI had a great experience at Be Well. I was on a long weekend trip to Chicago and was able to get a last minute appointment with Candy. I’ve been training for a half Ironman event which has had me running way more than I ever have. My right knee was very sore and painful, but after my massage, my knee felt significantly better. My quads & IT band were SO tight, likely causing the knee pain. Pressure was a little too firm at times, but honestly, the deeper tissue massage helped improve what I had come in for. Place was perfectly fine and clean, but I wouldn’t call it a high end spa—I wasn’t expecting it to be. Highly recommend!
From the start of the booking through the massage itself everything was done professionally. The manager Julie was able to schedule my massage within a week! On the day of my visit I completely the intake form and listed my area of attention and my goals. Michelle was my therapist. She was fantastic! I had an individualized one hour massage. All my problem areas were addressed. I felt great afterwards! I will be returning as it’s only 1 mile from me! Thank you Julie and Michelle for a great experience! Love the atmosphere too!
Would not recommend. Went here today because I just wanted to get a last minute massage.Mistake. Normally a spa would ask if youd like some fresh water prior,, me, nothing. Place was pretty dirty. Upon entering my room I was requested to wash my hands and lay on the table. While washing my hands I noticed several paint chips by the sink and I immediately felt unclean. When I looked into the bin that would normally house a customers clothes it was clear that this hadn't been cleaned for days, so much dirt. You'd think they'd at least dump out the dirt if they wouldn't vacuum it. Then the massage. I had put firm for my preferred pressure but my God, it hurt. I requested 3 times for a lighter pressure. I was told okay, and that was it. Not one time in my massage did my "therapist" ask how the pressure was or what could be improved. The room was way too warm; I felt so gross just sweating there. I left in more pain than I came in. Worse, I thought I was getting a 60 minute massage and it turned into a super painful $150 90-min massage. Normally I'd expect calming tranquil sounds to accompany the massage. Songs would end with more than 30 seconds between each one. I would constantly hear my therapist shaking the table behind her as she continued to apply far to much pressure on my back. Too long, didn't read version: terrible. Don't go here. Why I didn't give this 1 star? I don't know, I feel somewhat bad. But dang. Would recommend Hand and Stone in Lakeview though ✌
I miss Chisato, the one masseuse that knew her craft well. But still a great location to get a relaxing massage. I use to come here when I had debilitating arm/shoulder pain and couldn't lift a laptop above my waist. After one appointment I could lift said laptop above my head. My range of motion was entirely cleared.
What a great spa experience! My boyfriend took us here for a couples massage and every part of the service was relaxing. They tell you to arrive about 15 min early so you can use their dry sauna before your massage, so make sure you take advantage of that. Then your therapist will discuss what you'd like to focus on during your massage. After an incredible hour long massage you'll take a steam shower that's so nice you won't want to get out. This was truly a wonderful experience all around!
